The STRONG STAR Training Initiative wants to make lives better by increasing access to quality mental health care through excellence in training, research and community engagement.
Our Story
At the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, the STRONG STAR Training Initiative translates advanced research by the STRONG STAR Consortium into practical application in mental health settings. Since our inception in 2017, our goal has been to make lives better by increasing access to quality mental health care through excellence in training, research and community engagement.
We offer training in evidence-based treatments for PTSD, suicide prevention, and related conditions. Our commitment is to provide comprehensive support and resources to ensure clinicians feel confident in applying their training.
What We Do
Our PTSD training approach fosters a collaborative “Learning Community” model, ensuring clinicians receive comprehensive education, support, and resources necessary to excel in delivering evidence-based treatments within their respective communities. Learn more about PTSD training >
In addition to our PTSD training programs, we also provide high-quality suicide prevention workshops for clinicians, family, and peers in veteran communities – an effort powered by support from Face The Fight.
Our core training programs are further complemented by supplemental resources and workshops, including Care Navigator trainings, Advanced Skills workshops, and more!
