Face The Fight

Veteran Cultural Competence Training

Transitioning from military to civilian life can be a daunting challenge for many Veterans, intensified by the distinct differences between civilian and military experiences. This disconnect often creates barriers in professional and clinical settings, where understanding is essential. Research highlights that suicide rates among Veterans peak during these critical transition periods. Therefore, it is crucial for individuals whose work involve Veterans, including healthcare providers and other professionals, to increase their cultural understanding of Veteran experiences so that they more effectively form connections and work with Veterans.

Who should attend?

  • This training is intended for anyone who currently provides services to, or employs Veterans or their families. This includes medical or mental health professionals, business leaders, HR executives, administrators, and University faculty and staff.
