Trauma Accounts in CPT

Use of the Trauma Account in Cognitive Processing Therapy

Our Advanced Skills workshop “Use of the Trauma Account in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD: Enhancing Trauma Processing in CPT+A and CPT to Improve Client PTSD Recovery” is designed to equip mental health care providers with practical tools and clinical strategies to enhance trauma processing.

Cognitive Processing Therapy currently has two evidence-based versions: CPT, which is delivered without a written trauma account, and CPT+A, which includes the written trauma account.

This workshop will provide an overview of CPT+A, including when and how clinicians and clients may choose to use it, along with a review of key interventions and clinical skills for effective implementation. Because trauma processing is central to both versions of CPT, the workshop will also reinforce core CPT skills to strengthen clinician confidence and competence in staying trauma-focused—regardless of the chosen format. Real-world case examples will be shared to ground learning in practical application.

Join the live workshop to sharpen your clinical practice and deepen your impact with clients recovering from PTSD. Download a full course description [HERE].
